Who Succeeds In MLM?
One of the sad facts of network marketing is that 97% of those who start fail and of the 3% who don’t fail most never make a regular livable income. I don’t want to discourage anyone from giving network marketing a fair chance because it is a great opportunity to find financial freedom.
We are correctly told that this business is a business of duplication. This is true, but do you want to duplicate a system that results in a 97% failure rate? It is a good business model but it must be done right if we are to succeed. In this post I want to look at what I think is the most important thing that successful network marketers do that sets them apart from those who do not succeed.
Successful people do things differently than unsuccessful people. It is not a matter of luck. It is a matter of personal development and learning to be leaders. Leaders succeed, followers don’t.
The most important thing that successful network marketers do is set them apart as leaders that can help others succeed. In so doing they don’t chase after people, they put themselves in a position where others chase after them. There is a name for what they do. It is called “Attraction Marketing.” Leaders attract others to themselves and therefore are able to build large organizations.
Humans are social creatures. They follow leaders until they have enough confidence to launch out on their own, or even challenge the present leader.
MLMers will struggle until they develop the characteristics of a leader. The good news is that leadership is easily learned. The best way to learn them is to find a mentor and follow him/her until you have the experience and confidence to become a leader in your own right.
There is an important principle of recruiting that successful network marketers understand. People do not join a business, they join a leader that they believe can help them succeed.
